From Classroom to Metro: FMS Students Explore the World of Urban Transport! 

Learning took a lively turn for the students of Class-II of Faridabad Model School, Sector-31, as they stepped beyond the classroom and visited Sector-28 Metro Station, Faridabad, for an engaging educational experience.

The visit offered students a glimpse into the world of urban transportation and metro operations. Instead of merely reading about public transport, the students got an opportunity to observe it’s functioning firsthand—from entering the station and following security protocols to understanding ticketing, platform discipline and safe boarding and alighting. A special highlight of the visit was the interaction with Mr. Raghuveer Prasad, Sr. CC Assistant, Delhi Metro Museum, Mr. Deepak, Station Manager and Mr. Ankush, Station Controller who explained how different teams work together to keep the station organised, safe and passenger-friendly. They also interacted with the metro staff and listened with enthusiasm and asked questions, making the experience interactive and meaningful.

The visit also became a lesson in life skills. Students learned that travelling by public transport requires patience, punctuality, awareness, cleanliness and respect for others. They were encouraged to follow safety instructions, maintain queues and be responsible commuters. The excursion beautifully connected classroom concepts with real-world learning, allowing students to see how a modern transport system functions as part of a city’s everyday life. For the young learners of FMS, the visit was not just a metro journey—it was a journey towards becoming more aware, independent and responsible citizens.
