Workshop on Child Welfare & POCSO Organized at FMS

Faridabad Model School, Sector-31, organized an informative workshop on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act with the objective of creating awareness about child safety, protection, and legal rights. The session was conducted by Sub-Inspector Ms. Kavita, Mr. Ikender, and the dedicated team from Mahila Thana, Faridabad.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Kavita and Mr. Ikender emphasized that in today's rapidly evolving digital world, where children are increasingly exposed to social media and mobile technology, it is essential for them—especially those below the age of 18—to be aware of their rights and personal safety. They highlighted the importance of understanding the difference between good touch and bad touch, understanding the concept of personal space, identifying unsafe situations, and seeking timely help from trusted adults whenever they feel uncomfortable or threatened. The session further highlighted the need for responsible use of social media, cyber safety, and protection from online exploitation, making the discussion highly relevant in today's digital age.

The workshop aimed to sensitize students about child protection, prevent offences against children, and empower them with the knowledge and confidence to safeguard themselves. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively interacted with the resource persons by asking thoughtful questions and sharing their perspectives. Their curiosity and engagement reflected the effectiveness of the workshop in addressing sensitive issues in a child-friendly and informative manner. The workshop also reinforced the importance of respecting oneself and others, building self-confidence, and understanding that every child has the right to live with dignity, safety, and respect. The presenters stressed that awareness is the first step towards prevention and that informed children are better equipped to protect themselves and support their peers.

The workshop concluded with an address by Mrs. Shashi Bala, Academic Director on a positive note expressed her sincere gratitude to the officers from Mahila Thana for conducting such a meaningful and impactful session. She appreciated their efforts in spreading awareness about child protection laws and motivating students to become responsible, confident, and vigilant individuals. The session successfully reinforced the significance of awareness, vigilance, and collective responsibility in protecting children's rights and well-being.
